Respect our neighborhood. Don't leave trash or trash containers on the side of the road for days, even weeks on end. Trash is picked up on a schedule by Waste Management. If your trash is not picked up when it should be, call them at 574-3000

ONCE A WEEK RECYCLINGRecycling is collected the same day as garbage pickup. Please use your 18 gallon green bin to contain your jars, bottles and cans. Place paper products in a second bin or brown paper bag. A second recycling bin (one for paper, one for bottles & cans) may be obtained from Wast Management, 3001 Commonwealth Blvd., 574-3000. Cardboard can be flattened to 3 ft by 3 ft and stacked by your bin. Acceptable material for recycling includes:

ON CALL BULKY ITEM COLLECTIONPlease call 574-3000 to schedule a bulky item pickup for the larger items, such as appliances and large furniture. Please avoid placing bulk items and yard trash near mailboxes, utility boxes or next to poles or wires. Many times these items are collected with special mechanical equipment which might make contact with them. |
HAZARDOUS WASTEHazardous materials including paints, thinners, pool chemicals, pesticides, batteries, fluorescent bulbs and oil are not collected by Waste Management, but may be taken to the Leon County Solid Waste Facility on Apalachee Parkway (US 27) for proper disposal or reuse. Their hours are 8am-5pm Mon-Sat.For more information call the Hazardous Waste Center at 606- 1803. Waste Management of Leon County 574-3000 Mon. thru Fri., 8 am until 5 pm and Sat. 8 am until Noon. |
