Shocking Facts
  • Electronics contribute approximately 10 million pounds of municipal solid waste each year!
  • According to the National Recycling coalition, ONLY 10% of all electronics are being recycled!
  • The National safety Council estimates that within 6 years, 500 million of the nations's PC's will become obsolete!
  • Electronics contain significant amounts of hazardous waste, including mercury, lead, cadmium, and polychlorinated byphenyl (PCB's) which is a great concern when disposing of electronics improperly!
  • Each TV or monitor contains 4-8 pounds of lead!
  • The majority of electronics also contain recyclables such as steel, gold, silver , copper, nickel, aluminum, and engineering grade plastic.
